“The skills I have learned and continue to develop through the Data Champion apprenticeship have had a direct impact on my role. Improved Excel and dashboarding skills have enabled me to merge data and manipulate datasets to create visuals that benefit our stakeholders and financial planning. This has already brought significant benefits in terms of simplification, time-saving, and a clearer understanding of how to use empathy mapping to communicate data and visuals in a way that suits the audience’s technical and domain knowledge.

Having just completed the dashboarding module, I’ve already applied this new knowledge to several tasks in my business-as-usual work. For example, when auditing Tableau licenses for my managed segment, I used Power Query to merge datasets and leveraged Excel’s dashboarding capabilities with slicers. This allowed me to create a dashboard for stakeholders to review licenses held by their teams and take action on revocations, helping to make cost savings within business operations.

I’m eager to continue my learning journey with data and stay up to date with new developments to ensure I am delivering the best results for my stakeholders both now and in the future. I’m particularly interested in expanding my knowledge of artificial intelligence and machine learning, and how these can be applied in my role to provide better business insights.

The Decoded pathway, with its structured introductions to modules and development areas, provided unique and easily applicable tasks that made me think about how I can incorporate the learnings into our business operations. The workshops and impact groups also foster collaboration, providing a platform to gain insights and support from fellow learners and our learning support coach at Decoded.

My experience with the Decoded team has been excellent. All trainers and my learning coach are easily contactable and always happy to assist with any aspect of my learning journey.
