The Business Analysis Academy is a comprehensive program designed to empower aspiring and current Business Analysts with the skills, knowledge, and practical experience needed to excel in agile product development environments. The academy spans 14 weeks and is divided into four modules, each targeting a critical aspect of business analysis.

About the Programme

This academy comprises 4 meticulously crafted modules and 14 units (each unit consists of two days of immersive workshops) tailored to develop the essential skills and knowledge for navigating the modern age of Business Analysis. The academy will equip individuals with the essential skills and knowledge to succeed as a business analyst in today’s dynamic digital landscape. It will provide learners with the knowledge and practices to enable you to guide change in the organisation, by defining needs and recommending innovative solutions that deliver value to stakeholders.

Programme Topics

Learners will be introduced to the fundamental role of a Business Analyst, focusing on strategic alignment within organisations, stakeholder engagement, and understanding customer needs. This module covers the foundations of business analysis, emphasising critical thinking and problem-solving. Unit 1. Purpose of Business Analysis Unit 2. The Strategic Context of BA Unit 3. Stakeholders & Customers Unit 4. Engaging with Customers

This module dives into the core of business analysis, teaching participants how to gather, analyse, and document business and solution requirements. Learners will explore Agile methodologies, gaining insights into backlog management, user stories, and the effective prioritisation of requirements to deliver maximum value. Unit 5. Gathering & Analysing Requirements Unit 6. Requirements Engineering Framework Unit 7. Agile Foundations Unit 8. Agile Business Analysis

Participants will learn how to analyse and improve business processes through process modelling and design. The module covers lean process improvement methodologies, service design, and the development of business cases. Additionally, learners will focus on managing organisational risk, governance, and change to drive business improvement. Unit 9. Process Design & Modelling Unit 10. Process Improvement & Service Design Unit 11. Digital Product Deep Dive Unit 12. Managing Risk, Governance and Change

This final module covers the technical aspects of business analysis, including enterprise architecture, digital product design, and the alignment of IT and business strategies. Learners will explore popular frameworks such as TOGAF and Zachman and learn how to navigate the digital transformation journey. Unit 13. Enterprise Architecture & Tech BA Unit 14. Capstone Project

The program concludes with a capstone project where learners apply their acquired knowledge to solve a real-world problem. By the end of the academy, participants will be well-prepared to handle the complexities of business analysis and drive strategic change within their organisations.
