We’re proud to share Polly Cowper’s journey as a Legal & General Data Analyst apprentice and recipient of Decoded’s Award of Excellence.

Polly joined the apprenticeship to gain hands-on experience while learning on the job. Wanting a practical alternative to traditional study, she was drawn to the opportunity to build real skills while contributing in a live business environment. Through the programme, she has developed technical capability in automation, machine learning and AI, applying what she learns directly in her day-to-day role.

From improving data flows across systems to reducing reliance on manual spreadsheet processes, Polly has helped create a more efficient and lower-risk way of working with data within her team.

Her journey highlights the value of learning by doing and the impact practical capability can deliver in a real business context.
